Create a Windows 98 Boot Disk




To Create a Windows 98 Boot Disk, do the following. From Start, go settings then control panel. Once in control panel, Click the add remove programs icon. Then Click the startup disk tab on the top right. You will be prompted to insert your Windows 98 CD ROM Operating System Disk, so have it ready. Have an empty 1.44 MB floppy disk ready. Note: If the disk has data on it, it will be erased. Insert disk into the floppy disk drive, then click create disk button. Your Computer will then go on and make your Boot Disk.

Create a MS-DOS Start up Disk in XP

To Create a Windows XP Boot Disk, insert a blank 1.44 MB floppy disk in the floppy disk drive. Note. If the disk is not allready formated, a window will pop up saying “The Disk in drive A is not formated. Do you want to format it? (Say no)” From my computer, click on 3 ˝ Floppy (A:) Then select file format… then a small window will pop up. Check the box for – Create an MS-DOS startup disk. Or you can right click on 3 ˝” floppy, then select and click format. Note. A small window will pop up and say “Warning, formating will erase all data” Click Ok
